Router Won'T Connect To Hotspot

Originally Answered: The laptop connects to a wifi hotspot and shows as "connected, secured", but has no Internet access. Other mobile devices and laptops are able to connect with no difficulty to the access point and use the Internet. How do I fix this? First thing I would try is setting your DNS server to manual, and enter 1.1.1.1 as the primary DNS server address. I've seen glitches where for some reason the computer doesn't seem willing to ask the router for directions to wherever it's going and at that point it can't go anywhere.

Check signal strength and change router channel (use WiFi analyzer apps). Hardware failure: the laptops WiFi radio or antenna may be partially faulty (works close to a hotspot phone but not at router range).
